Fan Experience Matters the Most

Fan Experience Matters the Most

Hardly a day goes by without news of a team moving into a new stadium or another trying to redesign an old one. Stadiums can leave a long-lasting experience for fans. There is proof that watching a sports event in a well-built, well-managed, and well-designed stadium brings strong feelings that translates into surprising behaviors. That can be positive or negative. For some fans, it can be a bittersweet experience as they say farewell to a place that holds memories of their team’s miraculous wins and heartbreaking losses. On the other hand, there are also fans leaving an old stadium and excitingly moving into a new one, summarizing it in 2 words: “Good Riddance”.

Newly built stadiums represent a continuously changing sports trend where sports teams offer facilities with hi-tech features and glimpses into the future. These facilities offer two basic things: alluring appeal and multiple amenities intended to make sports fans quickly fall in love with their team’s new “headquarter”. These often translate into better views, improved scoreboards, more luxury suites, and, in short, a trip to a ballgame guaranteed to bring them back over and over again.

These days, stadiums are designed to not only provide for great playing and viewing but also to have a nice look.

The New Era of Stadium Experience

Fans expect stadiums to give them the best sports experience. A new stadium can only function well with proper management. Yes, the stadium is built with state-of-the-art equipment, hired employees, and sports teams. But how would they function? That’s where stadium management comes in.

Stadium managers should ensure that there is a good atmosphere in the stadium. That includes proper lighting, ticketing, alignment of seats, access to snacks and drinks, cleanliness, temperatures, and audios. These multiple factors require people, automation systems, policies, measures, and digital equipment to sort them out. Ultimately, a lot of responsibility lies on stadium managers to ensure that fans have the best experience.

Stadium managers should have the expertise and experience to handle such a task. Managing should be customer-driven solutions that deliver. Just like a coach once said, “Stadium managing addresses playing factors, spectator factors and the surrounding neighborhood.”

Managing stadiums can be a hefty workload when handling events. You got to get everything planned carefully, from pre-development, opening, event operations, to safety and security.

Making it the best fan experience can mean a lot of moving parts. Fans can only see the tip of the iceberg. They will never know what’s going on under every memorable event they’ve attended. There will always be the other side of the story.
